Following
in the footsteps of many family members, the 2005 season was my debut
behind the wheel. After working on the Amick Kaubisch Racing Team
all of my life it's time for the wheel to be passed down so to speak.
The 2005 season ended with our team
finishing in 10th place in points. There were a few rough moments
but overall it was a pretty successful season and we're looking forward
to upcoming 2006 racing season. |

Doug was
the 1st to follow in his father's footsteps and take a seat behind
the wheel of a race car in 1967 at the age of 17. Soon after he began
his late brother Lyndon followed in 1969 followed by Craig in 1971.
After several years both of his brothers ended their racing career's
but after 36 years Doug is still going strong. Doug
Started off racing in the hobby stock division at Black Hills Speedway
before moving into a late model in 1971, then in 1983 he changed into
the wedge body style that is similar to what is run today. He started
off with Fords, and raced them for several years before making the
switch to Chevy in 1978, and is currently still running Chevy today.
Some of his career highlights are winning
the point championship in 1987, followed by a close 2nd in points
in 1988. In 1993 he was known for his 3-wheeled action as the car
would pull the left front tire off the ground and carry it down the
straightaway. He also won the season ending Nationals that year as
well. After 36 years of racing
he's now taking on a new role of pit man. Hopefully his years of experience
will help to make the future seasons very successful. |
